Derek joined QCS in 2018 and has enjoyed working with the Ecuador and Dominican Republic offices of QCS. Before arriving to QCS, Derek completed a Master’s of Sustainable Development Practice with a focus on sustainable food systems at the University of Florida. Derek also has worked as a Production Supervisor in the wine bottling industry, and as a Ground Supply Officer in the United States Marine Corps. The role of international organic and sustainable agricultural certifications has been very fulfilling to support environmental protection while working within the global food system. Derek enjoys working with various actors in the supply chain, from the farmers to the importers and the retailers, all with the same goal in mind of making a better and more sustainable future.
